NEW temporary speed limits are being proposed for the start of major roadworks at a new development on the edge of Alresford.
The county council wants to reduce limits to 40 and 50mph on roads close to the Sun Lane development including the A31, a new link road (currently unnamed) and Whitehill Lane, between Appledown Lane and the B3047 Bishop’s Sutton Road.
Any objections can be sent in writing to Hampshire County Council at Universal Services, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD.
They can be emailed to public.notices@hants.gov.uk, quoting reference DL/C857 by Saturday April 27.
The Sun Lane development comprises 320 new homes, 3.4 hectares of employment land and 16.84 hectares of public open space, along with a new roundabout off the A31.

NEW Alresford Town Council is again asking for the public’s help as it prepares a neighbourhood plan which will set out the vision, objectives, and planning policies for many years to come.
The council says one of the key themes is employment and economic development.
It asks: “If you own or run a local business or shop in the town centre, we would very much like to hear from you.
“We would be very grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete the survey that asks several important questions which will help the advisory group and town council gain a better understanding.”
