The Test Valley Contemporary Artists and Craftsmen kick off the Hampshire Open Studios fortnight on Friday in King John's House Romsey and will continue on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm each day.
New to the group is a local embroiderer some of whose work was on display in the recent Quilters Exhibition. One of the jewellers has turned her hand to flower painting, some of which will be for safe as cards. The weaver has been busy making throws from handspun local fleeces and the Shaker box maker has a tower of boxes to illustrate his precision with different sizes and varieties of American wood. A previous exhibitor returns with some enchanting painted wooden boxes and there will also be work from woodturners, a natural dyer, a knitter, textile artists, potters and a stained glass maker.
Many of these crafts people will demonstrate their work during the Exhibition and some pieces will be for sale, others can be commissioned. Everything will be completely hand made by local people.
Admission to the show is free of charge.
