NORTH Baddesley Community Library recently held a jigsaw sale in Romsey market, raising nearly £100.

Volunteers Debbie Evenhand and Joy Clamp battled with the weather on Saturday, April 6 as people donated £90 towards library funds.

The library runs a jigsaw exchange where members bring in one jigsaw and take out another but after Covid, when many people bought lots of jigsaws, they donated two jigsaws for each one they took home.

This left the library with too many jigsaws so it was decided to sell off surplus stock and raise money for library funds.

Now run by volunteers for more than 10 years, the library has a large children’s section, plenty of fiction and non-fiction books and a selection of large print books which are available to borrow free of charge.

New members are always welcome to borrow books or exchange jigsaws on Tuesday afternoons 2pm-4pm, Wednesday and Thursday mornings 10am-12pm at All Saints Church.

There will be a book and jigsaw sale at North Baddesley village day on Saturday, May 18.
