Littleton and Harestock Parish Council has renewed its cultivation licence with Hampshire County Council at Littleton pond, and the first step has been taken to trim back the bushes on the rear fence, and to do a Spring tidy of the borders around the pond.

The parish council has been in contact with Hampshire County Council regarding the weeping willow, which is not included in the cultivation licence, and is planning to trim the low-lying branches by July.

A Littleton Spring clean will be taking place in April, with people volunteering their time ahead of a litter-picking event which will take place on Sunday, April 21. Contact the Littleton and Harestock Parish Council clerk if you would like to be involved and keep the event safe and enjoyable for all.

A Churchyard Cleanup will be taking place at St. Stephen's, Sparsholt on Saturday, April 27 from 10am to 1pm. All volunteers will be warmly welcomed with their garden equipment, while elevenses and lunch will be provided.

The National Pony Society is inviting people to Sparsholt Equine Centre on Sunday, April 21 for an open Spring show. The show is a qualifier for the NPS Winter and Summer championship show, as well as the Malvern and South West Pony Association Summer championships 2024. M&M and plaited in hand, and ridden classes. 

The show is open to all, with the schedule and entry form available on the NFED website.

Also in Sparsholt, the annual parochial church meeting will be held in Stephen’s Church on Tuesday, April 23 starting at 7.30pm. Guests are invited to attend, meet the church's new Rector, Revd. Kevin Rogers and have your say on what you would like to happen in our Church community.

ITCHEN Abbas Primary School is organising a volunteer day for the morning of Saturday, April 20. Anyone who would like to help with ‘odd jobs’ such as gardening and repairs should contact the school at admin@itchenabbas.org.uk to get involved.

Worthies Sports and Social Club in Kings Worthy has announced that it will be extending its popular Friday afternoon Happy Hour to a happy 2 hours, with it now starting at 4:30pm and finishing at 6:30pm.

Worthies Craft and Makers Market will be taking place on Sunday, April 21 from 10.30am until 2.30pm, with non-members also welcome. For more information about the makers' fairs in 2024, email carolansell24@gmail.com or enquire within the club.

The Worthies Sports and Social Club will also be holding a bingo night on Sunday, April 14 as well as a Monday night jazz jam on April 15.

LOVEDON Lane Burial Ground in Kings Worthy has been reopened following recent repairs and resurfacing of the roadway.

Works to repair and replace the fire-damaged equipment at Fraser Road Play area are due to start on Monday, April 15. The work will take approximately two weeks to complete and the play area will remain open during the majority of the works.
