The Somborne Sisterhood enjoyed a relaxing and creative evening full of crafts at its April meeting.

On Friday, April 6, 20 members met for a crafting session at King's Somborne Village Hall, with the group supporting others in producing jewellery, decorative dishes and greeting cards.

Sam Boot showed how to make simple but effective necklaces from both plastic and felt beads, with great results, while Sheila Nevines and Victoria Morrison guided members through the rolling out of clay, to either fitting in a dish or, for the more advanced, designing their own recipients in the shape of leaves.

These were then decorated with imprints from leaves, stamps or bubble wrap.  The third table of the carousel was for making greetings cards, led by Katie Dynes.  The group was given an array of decorative materials including coloured paper, stamps for letters and shapes, washi tape and calligraphy pens.

Committee member Rebecca Rickard said: "We sat at tables with tea, coffee and wine, chatted to friends and experienced each of the three activities.

"We all went home proudly wearing necklaces, carrying our special cards and delicately holding our dishes hoping to see the end result in 72 hours.  Some of us may then even paint!

"Thanks to those who gave up their time, not only on the night but also for their time beforehand in creating examples to show and inspire."
