A new play is coming to Chesil Theatre this summer, and auditions are being held.

The play, "Captain Corelli's Mandolin," written by Louis de Bernière in the 1990s, has been adapted for stage by award-winning playwright, Rona Munro.

The story will shine a light on the lives of the Greek island community of Kelafonia during WWII, as they navigate the challenges presented by foreign occupation.

The plot centres on Pelagia, a local girl who is surprisingly drawn towards Captain Antonio Corelli, despite his part in the Italian occupation.
