THREE teenagers have been arrested after a spate of vandalism in a Winchester suburb.

Over the Easter weekend, windows were smashed at Starbucks, Sainsbury's and Badger Farm Community Centre. 

A building site next to Stanmore Primary School was also vandalised. 

Police confirmed that three 14-year-old boys had been arrested. 

A spokesman said: “At around 8.45pm on Sunday March 31, we were called to a report of a burglary at Starbucks and damage to a window of the neighbouring Sainsbury’s store in Badger Farm Road. Entry was forced to the Starbucks store and a search carried out.

“At 8.20pm on Monday April 1, we were called to a report of windows being damaged at Badger Farm Community Centre, in Badger Farm Road.

“At 4.30pm on Tuesday April 2, we received a report of criminal damage at a building site in Stanmore Lane. Windows had been smashed. All three incidents are being treated as linked.

“Officers arrested three 14-year-old boys, all from the Winchester area, following the incident in Stanmore Lane.

“One of the boys was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, in relation to the incident in Stanmore Lane.

“The other two were arrested on suspicion of burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal in relation to the incident on March 31, criminal damage in relation to the incident on April 1, and criminal damage, in relation to the incident in Stanmore Lane.

“All three have been released from police custody but remain under investigation while our enquiries continue.”
