A WINCHESTER gardener will have a mini show garden at BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair.

Corrine Frost will be at the event at Beaulieu in the New Forest from May 3-5.

Always popular at BBC Gardeners’ World events, the small borders are 9m2 miniature show gardens, packed with creative planting and design inspiration for small gardens and difficult spaces.

This year’s Spring Fair’s theme is ’Share My Space’ and designers have been quick to take up the challenge.

Despite creating outdoor spaces for clients, Corrine doesn’t have a garden herself, so her spring fair border, titled 'If I had a border', is an opportunity to create a garden space full of her favourite things. The wraparound design features a pink palette of spring perennials and bulbs which weave through a round, repeating structure of topiary mounds with soft spring grasses. Two trees watch over a small seating area, casting dappled shade over a space made for conversation.

She said: “This is embarrassing! I am a landscape architect and garden designer and yet I don’t have a space to experiment with planting combinations, practice sustainable soil techniques or grow cut flowers for my kitchen table. Any experience of garden curation I do is through the design of other people’s spaces. This border is a space for me.”

Lucy Tremlett, head of horticultural division at Immediate Live, organisers of the BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair, said: “No matter what size garden or level of gardening experience you have, it’s impossible to spend a day at the Spring Fair without feeling inspired. We can’t wait to see Corrine’s Border in situ at Beaulieu in May, and know that it will give visitors some wonderful ideas to take home. With gorgeous spring plants, garden inspiration, expert tips and advice, and more to offer, the Spring Fair really is the perfect place for a great day out.”

The BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair at Beaulieu is a celebration of the start of the spring gardening and growing season with its bulbs, blossoms and blooms.

With showcase gardens and floral displays, achievable ideas to try at home, hands-on workshops and kitchen demonstrations, the BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine stage featuring TV presenters and magazine editors, the new Get Growing stage, tips and advice from plant experts, garden tours, plants and garden goods to browse and buy, children’s activities, street food, and food and drink to sample and buy at the Good Food Market.
