ONE of Winchester’s oldest charities is preparing to say goodbye to its CEO after 10 years in the role.

Clive Cook will be leaving St John's Winchester on April 18.

Mr Cook recently oversaw the opening of 15 new almshouses in Colebrook Street after years of planning.

He will be replaced by Tim Bissett, director of the St Martin-in-the-Fields Charity which supports people experiencing homelessness.

Mr Cook has tirelessly worked through St John’s to provide a supportive community for older folk to live well in the centre of Winchester and has driven community services to provide carers, volunteers and support for the elderly and for those living with dementia.

He has spent much time volunteering with organisations such as the Samaritans and more recently Winchester Rotary Club where he has supported youth development programmes and business networking events with students at local schools.

His commitment to building strong working relationships in the community – including Winchester University – has resulted in local businesses, stakeholders and students working together to meet and enrich the needs of the community.

Originally founded in the 12th century, St John’s Winchester aims to support and help older people in Winchester live well.
