SUTTON Scotney Fire Station recently held its first-ever Easter egg hunt.

The event, on Saturday, March 30, was hosted by the firefighters at Sutton Scotney with all donations going to the Firefighters Charity.

A fun-filled day was had by everyone as all ages made their way around the Coach and Horses garden next to the fire station, in Oxford Road, for the egg hunt with other Easter themed activities including, a raffle, 'name the bunny' and Easter crafts.

Among those attending was Babette Bond, who said: “A great event held by the firefighters for our local community.”

Mandy Cherry said: "We all had a fantastic day and we even won a raffle prize!"

The firefighters thanked all the sponsors and helpers, including David at the Coach and Horses for the loan of his garden, and Easter egg donations from Spar, Asda,Tesco and Co-op. 

Also the many local businesses that provided raffle prizes including Dever Stores, Scotney Salon, The Grosvenor Hotel, Barton Stacey Store, The Swan Pub, Cafe Bartella, Rick Stein Restaurant, Kudos Cake and Coffee Shop, The Village Bakery and Cobbs Farm Shop.

The event raised £572 for the Firefighters Charity.
