A teenage boy tried to force a woman off her bike in an alleyway.

The victim, in her 20s, was cycling on the path from Allington Lane to Green’s Close when she was attacked, police said.

The boy is said to have grabbed hold of the handlebars of her bicycle, trying to push her off the bike, before running off.

The incident left the woman with two wounds to her lower abdomen which required hospital treatment.

Officers are now appealing for any witnesses to the attempted robbery between 8.30pm and 9.40pm on March 25.

The boy is described as white, aged between 16 and 18 years, short dark hair, of slim, skinny build, and approximately 5ft 4ins tall.

He was wearing dark clothing, a dark top/jumper, dark trousers/tracksuit and white trainers.
