Greggs in Winchester is closed due to an IT outage impacting their tills leaving customers unable to pay.

Anyone hoping for a bacon roll and a coffee on Wednesday, March 20, was left disappointed as the bakery was forced to close.

The store, on High Street in the city centre, was not alone as the chain reported  UK outage.

On the door to the Winchester branch, a sign reads: "Oh Crumbs! We currently have an issue with our tills which means we can't take cash or card payments right now.

"Our IT colleagues are working hard to get the issue sorted as soon as they can.

"We're really sorry for any inconvenience caused."

It is not known when Greggs will reopen.

It comes after IT and payment issues were reported at McDonalds and Sainsbury's last week.
