ROMSEY’S policing team is helping the community protect their bikes with free bike registering events.

More than 40 bikes were registered at the latest event at Romsey Police Station on the morning of Saturday, March 16.

The next event will be on Saturday, April 13. Following the event, PCSO Josh Humphrey, said: “We wanted to run this event to help the community protect their bikes. We use Bike Register,  a nationally recognised database which is used by all police forces in the country.

“The turnout was impressive and the event seemed well received. It also gave us the opportunity to meet and engage with more members of our community.

“We will be holding more registering events over the coming months and these will be advertised on our Facebook page as well as the website.

“More information on how you can protect your bike can be found on our website - hampshire.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/keeping-vehicles-safe/how-safe-is-your-bike/.”

A registered bike is easier to reunite with its owner if it has been stolen.
