A SUTTON Scotney man has been banned from the road for three years for drug driving.
James McCulloch, of Wonston Lane, was stopped by police while driving a Toyota Yaris near his home on Wednesday, July 5, a court heard.
McCulloch, 34, was tested and returned a reading for cannabis greater than 8 microgrammes per 100ml of blood, four times the limit of 2 microgrammes.
He also returned a reading for BZE greater than 240microgrammes per 100ml of blood, almost five times the limit of 50microgrammes. BZE is a breakdown product of cocaine.
He admitted the charge when he appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, March 12.
McCulloch has been banned from driving for three years. He has also been given a community order to complete 180 hours of unpaid work within 12 months.
He must also pay a victim surcharge of £114 and costs of £85. McCulloch will pay the £199 total in monthly £20 instalments starting from April 9.
