ROMSEY retirees recently welcomed a celebrity guest to the official opening of a new retirement living development.

Charlie Dimmock, who stars in the BBC’s popular Garden Rescue show, led the celebrations at McCarthy Stone’s Glebe Court where the gardening guru gave a demonstration on creating the perfect potted plant display, before performing a ceremonial ribbon-cutting.

Guests spent time getting to know Charlie as part of a Q&A session in the communal lounge over a glass of fizz and nibbles, before taking a guided tour.

Charlie was born in West Wellow and attended Wellow Primary School and Mountbatten School.
