RESIDENTS of the Teg Down and Dean Lane areas are being invited to a meeting on what can be done locally to protect plants and animals.
The meeting, on Saturday, March 23, is being held in response to the loss of wildlife and natural habitats across the country.
It will be hosted by a small team of residents at the 1st Place Scout Hut in Fleming Road, Weeke, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
It will be a chance for the residents to talk about what can be done to help nature thrive in local green spaces such as gardens, hedges and verges, as well as public spaces.

Simon Eden, one of the group of residents, said: “We all recognise how important nature is for our health and wellbeing and it’s vital we do more to help wildlife thrive. The Teg Down and Dean Lane area has many important spaces for nature: back gardens are home to many birds, insects and small animals, parks and roadside verges provide room for a range of plants and wildflowers.
“We want to give local people the chance to become involved in encouraging natural renewal in our community.”
The group is hoping that the meeting will kick start a range of activities bringing neighbours together to help wildlife thrive in the community.
