SPARSHOLT Primary School is inviting all parents and the Sparsholt community to join pupils and staff for the return of the ‘Tell Me Tuesday’ events.

Next up will be ‘Super Swimming’ on Tuesday, March 19 by year six pupil Harriet and an Air Ambulance talk with Mr Sawyer on Tuesday, March 26.

THE Friends of Sparsholt School are planning an Easter Eggstravaganza for the last day of term on Thursday, March 28 from 3.30pm to 4.45pm. The Friends are asking any parents who can help with ideas, set up or manning a stall to email friendsofsparsholtschool@gmail.com. The group is also recruiting any parents or guardians willing to help with maintaining the website, second hand uniform orders or advice on policies.

AFTER months of delays the play tower has opened at Eversley Park in Loader Close. Kings Worthy Parish Council posted on Facebook on Thursday, March 7: “I can confirm that the new parts have now been fitted and the tower will be opening this afternoon. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding.”

The zipline has also reopened while painting works are rescheduled.

THE Great Kings Worthy Clean Up – Spring Litter Pick is back on Saturday, April 6. Volunteers are encouraged to help improve the community from 2-4pm, meeting at Tubbs Hall in Fraser Road to get started. Equipment and refreshments will be provided and children will receive a certificate. A seed bomb making activity will also be available for kids taking part once they’re back.

MEANWHILE, the Itchen Valley Litter pick returns on Saturday, March 16. From 10am volunteers are invited to meet at the usual five starting points of Avington War Memorial, Itchen Abbas Village Hall car park, The Cricketers at Easton car park, Martyr Worthy War Memorial and the top of Chilland Lane.

Tea, coffee and cakes will be available at Martyr Worthy Village Hall from 11.30am.

UPCOMING events at the Worthies Sports and Social Club, in Loader Close, include bingo on Sunday, March 17, Sunday, March 31 and Sunday, April 14, Jazz Jam from 8pm on Monday, March 18, band ‘We’re Not Worthy’ from 6 to 8pm on Saturday, March 23, Craft and Makers Market from 10.30am-2.30pm on Sunday, March 24 and April 28, live band Runaway Train on Saturday, April 20.

RESIDENTS are being encouraged to ‘save the date’ for the Easton and Martyr Worthy Safari Supper. The event will be held on Saturday, May 11, more details will be released in April.

AVINGTON Village Car Boot Sale will be opposite Avington Park Golf Course from 9am to midday on Sunday, April 28.

ITCHEN Abbas and Avington Village Hall is recruiting a part-time caretaker to maintain the grounds and carry out minor servicing and maintenance. Hours would be flexible and around six per week. HAMPSHIRE County Council has approved the renewal of Littleton and Harestock Parish Council’s cultivation license for three years, which allows the parish council to maintain the Littleton pond and the wooded area opposite it.

WEEKE Community Centre is hosting its first comedy cabaret of the year. Headline acts Rob Deering and Steve Best will be taking centre stage at the centre in Taplings Road on Friday, March 15.
