NEW hoardings have been placed around a recently demolished former medical centre, ready for the next phase of work.
The former Friarsgate Medical Centre centre is no more, after it was torn to the ground to make way for its new use, as part of the Central Winchester Regeneration scheme.
Since work started at the site in October, maroon hoardings surrounded it promoting a former scheme called Saxon Gate.

These are now plain wood, with posters attached to promote the larger Central Winchester Regeneration scheme which focuses on the area between the Broadway and Friarsgate.
The hoardings include the phrases "New life in a timeless city" and "It's time, it's happening now."
The next stage will be to create the “pop-up park” next to the River Itchen, undertake an archaeological dig, and create an area for informal teaching and cultural events.
The building had been empty since 2014.
