ROMSEY Round Table has once again given thousands of pounds to local charities.
On Thursday, February 29, at Crosfield Hall, recipients met members of Round Table to discuss their experiences and to meet the volunteers responsible for raising the cash.
A total of £9,600 was given away to good causes such as: Romsey Family Support Group, Jane Scarth House Cancer Support Group, New Forest Carriage Driving for the Disabled, Braishfield Social Contact Group and others.
Chairman Ross Knapman said: “It has been inspiring to meet so many selfless volunteers who do such good in the local community. I am so proud of all the Round Table members who have given up their time to raise this cash – it really does make a difference around Romsey, Chandler's Ford and the surrounding areas.”

Membership secretary Oliver Stone said: “This one evening makes it all worthwhile. We have an awful lot of fun as members of Round Table, but the charity aspect is so important too.”
They raised money mainly through the Romsey Beer Festival in October and the Santa Sleigh that takes place throughout December.
Next year’s organiser Mark Bannister said: “We have set the bar high, and this will motivate us to do even better next year.”
