THE Romsey Baptist community café recently welcomed the mayor for some cake and a cup of tea.
Mayor of Romsey John Ray visited on Saturday, March 2, and enjoyed talking to the cafe's regulars.
It was set up in 2019 by Bronwen Clemons, a member of the church, to combat loneliness and isolation.

Bronwen said: “Many people have things going on during the week but at weekends most clubs and societies are usually closed leaving people with nothing to do and no one to talk to.”
The cafe is attended by a wide range of people and has become a popular meet up spot. It is open every Saturday from 10.30am-12.30pm.
