There are questions I would like answered about the proposed Bushfield Camp development.

It is estimated that this will generate over 4,000 extra car journeys (with multi storey car-parking for more than 1,000 vehicles).

How can the official Bushfield Camp Regeneration website state, at the end of a FAQ addressing traffic congestion: “Those parts of Winchester towards the city centre are not significantly affected by the proposals as most new users that are expected to drive to the site will come to/ from the southern approaches to the city.”

Surely this contradicts their first FAQ in ‘The Proposals’? This states that the redevelopment will be ‘capitalising on the site’s proximity to the centre of Winchester.’

Also, what crystal ball are they using? If the first statement is true, then surely they should be looking for a site well south of Winchester to minimise pollution and congestion.
