Conductors and friends Paul Ingram and Craig Lawton laid on a fabulous musical banquet for a large, enthusiastic audience at the Turner Sims on Sunday.
Following previous marathon performances (all 104 Haydn symphonies in three days for Comic Relief, followed by all nine Beethoven symphonies in a weekend), they conceived of a day devoted to some of Tchaikovsky's masterpieces, performed in three concerts, morning, afternoon and evening.
Brilliant soloists Laura Rickard (violin) and Keelan Carew (piano), plus a full symphony orchestra played their hearts out, and the Mountbatten Hospice benefitted from a charity event that this music lover will cherish forever.
Paul and Craig in the programme describe the event as their 'final hurrah', but we should definitely demand an 'encore'!
