A MAN convicted of causing suffering to an animal has got into further trouble by failing to attend appointments as part of a community order.

Alexander Thomas Wilson, 33, of Cranbourne Drive, Otterbourne, was sentenced last year for not ensuring an animal's needs were met, a court heard.

Wilson got a suspended sentence of 16 weeks in jail, suspended for 18 months and a community order to do unpaid work at a hearing on June 20 2023.

But Southampton Magistrates Court was told that he did not attend for unpaid work on November 10 and November 17 last year.

He admitted the non-attendance charges when he appeared before magistrates on Friday February 23.

The Bench varied the community order for Wilson to undertake 300 hours unpaid work over the next 12 months, extended by six months, to end on December 20 2024.

He was also fined £200 with £60 costs.
