A LORRY driver who took a wrong turn and got stuck down a road in Winchester has been penalised by the police.

The Tesco truck was reported as being stuck in Clifton Terrace just after 4pm on Tuesday, February 27.

The 72-year-old driver, from Bracknell in Berkshire, was handed a fixed penalty notice for driving without due care and attention.

An onlooker reported that the vehicle had chipped the parapet of one of the properties.

Clifton Terrace is currently closed from its junction with Romsey Road to Clifton Hill. Workers are building a new pedestrian crossing on Romsey Road.
