Anne Tutt, chair of the Petersfield-based RRN, said: “We are delighted by the response. It shows that, in spite of the terrible things happening in the world, there is still so much compassion out there. The money raised will help RRN support refugees with, amongst other things, language lessons, employment training and accommodation.”

Will Goldsmith, head of Bedales, said: “It is so inspiring for our school community to be hosting this fundraising Art Sale with the Rural Refugee Network and the supporting artists. Our JBF Emergency Refugee Fund enables young people to attend Bedales Senior and Prep schools who have been displaced from their homes and had their education disrupted. By coming along on the night and buying artwork, people will be supporting our two charities and helping more young people seeking to rebuild their lives.”

The Art Sale will be held at Bedales School, in Church Road, Steep from 6pm to 9pm. Entry is free by ticket only. For tickets go to bedales.org.uk/event/art-sale or call 0333 666 3366.
