PEOPLE who buy a National Lottery ticket will be able to take advantage of free and discounted entry to many events and venues across the country next month. 

The popular annual National Lottery Open Week will see places open their doors, including four in Hampshire. 

The event, which runs from Saturday, March 9 to Sunday, March 17, includes: 

  • Whitchurch Silk Mill - look around and learn all about a silk mill built in 1890. Get free entry on March 9 and 10 and between March 12 and 17. 
  • Gilbert White’s House & Gardens - in Selborne, check out the beautiful home of the historic naturalist, show your National Lottery ticket between March 12-17 for free entry
  • Petersfield Museum and Art Gallery – visit the various exhibitions of Petersfield Museum including a photography collection and Ebru Kocak’s fabric marbling. Show your National Lottery ticket for free entry between March 12-16 
  • Boathouse 4 in Portsmouth – get a free tour around the 85-foot steamboat VIC 56, which was built in 1945 on March 12 
  • Hinton Ampner - show your National Lottery ticket for free entry to this National Trust property and grounds
  • Mottisfont - show your National Lottery ticket for free entry to this National Trust property and grounds
