I just completed the Hampshire Perspectives - the county council's consultation asking residents to help the council decide which services to reduce to save money.
Ironically, I completed the survey while waiting at Winchester Bus Station for the next 86 to Whitchurch after missing mine because it died at the stand.
The 86 is a critical link for us older disabled residents of villages north of Winchester which only runs at best hourly, two hourly for large chunks of the day and not at all on Sundays or bank holidays.
The prospect of reducing this fragile unreliable link is horrifying at a time when it’s clear to all that net zero depends heavily on more efficient public transport, not a reduction from the current barely adequate service.
