AN AWARD-winning pub near Romsey is celebrating another Five-Star Inn rating from VisitEngland.

The Duke on The Test, in Greatbridge Road, passed the recent inspection with flying colours in all areas, achieving an 89 per cent approval rating – just one per cent more than its last assessment.

The pub, which underwent a major refurbishment in 2022 after a five-year closure, scored highly in food quality, cleanliness and friendliness sections.

A spokesperson for VisitEngland said: “The Duke on The Test comfortably achieved the VisitEngland Five-Star Inn rating and each section secured a high rating. The scoring has increased since last year which is highly commendable.

“The quality of food and the excellent levels of presentation (96%) are a real credit to the kitchen brigade and add considerably to the overall experience at the inn.”
