A COUPLE from East Wellow have expanded their independent gift and lifestyle company in Hampshire.

Helen, 30, and James Mitchell, 34, first launched Fig and Fox in The Hundred, in Romsey in October 2022 but have now opened a second shop in Basingstoke.

The store originally opened as a pop-up in Festival Place on Friday, September 15, and closed on January 17.

However, on Friday, January 19 the business became a permanent feature in the Basingstoke shopping centre.

James said: “We have been overwhelmed by the support from local residents and visitors. The shop has been bustling with activity since we re-opened on Friday and we love our new atmosphere.

“The shop design has been created for our brand and we have found the addition of warm, vintage lighting, background music and darker colours has led to a relaxed shopping environment that has proved a hit with our customers.”

Helen said: “We have exciting plans for 2024, we are increasing our own range of products and expanding the offering from our New Forest studio.

“We currently allow customers to personalise our greetings cards in the shops, free of charge, we hope to increase this offering and also launch a new range of gift boxes and accessories.”
