A section of the A31 near Alresford was closed this morning after a woman was seen on a bridge.
The road was closed from the roundabout near Ladycroft and the roundabout near Bishop's Sutton Road.
Police have confirmed this was due to a concern for welfare incident.
A spokesman said: "Police were called at 6.16am this morning to concerns for the welfare of a woman on the bridge across the A31.
"Officers attended the scene and spoke to the woman.
"The woman came down from the bridge safely at 8.30am."
