THE case of a Winchester man charged with dangerous driving and drink driving has been dropped after a court heard he had died.
Jonathan Searle, 41, formerly of Oglander Road, Abbotts Barton, had been due for sentence on February 12. He had admitted the charge last September.
However, a short hearing at Winchester Crown Court on January 18 heard that Mr Searle had died on January 6.
The cause of death was not given in court during a brief hearing.
The judge, Recorder Jaron Crooknorth said the indictment had been dropped because of the defendant's death.
