THE Met Office is forecasting rising temperatures following the cold front which hit the south coast.

Temperatures are set to increase in Winchester and Romsey over the next few days, reaching highs of 12 degrees on Sunday, January 21.

The threat of snow has also decreased, although the Met Office is asking that motorists take care due to possible ice patches on the road.

The UK Health Security Agency has a Cold-Health Alert in force for England.

Dr Agostinho Sousa, Head of Extreme Events and Health Protection at UKHSA, said: “The temperatures we will see can rapidly have a serious impact on the health of those over the age of 65 and those with pre-existing health conditions as it increases the risk of heart attacks, strokes and chest infections.
