Delighted to read that Winchester City Councilo has won the silver accreditation from the Carbon Literacy Trust.

I suspect the course was compulsory but unfortunately you will not change the climate in Winchester let alone the world, so hang your certificates on the wall and get on with your actual jobs which is sorting out the problems of the city.

Here's a few ideas to get you going. River Park, struggling businesses, keeping Andover Road, traffic jams, bottle recycling, pot holes, city unfriendly planning applications, anti-social behaviour and scrapping the evening, overnight and Sunday parking charges. You know it makes sense.

On a more positive note I would like to thank the team who removed the large fallen tree in Romsey Road so quickly and the bin men who cheerfully cleared the Christmas backlog.

Ted Hart,
May Tree Close,
Badger Farm
