AN evening of folk music is coming to Compton.
The event is on Friday, January 26 at the Jubilee Pavilion in Shepherds Lane.
The bar will be open from 7pm and the music starts at 8pm.
It will be an evening of traditional and contemporary folk music performed by local bands.
Entry is free.

THE Otterbourne and Allbrook Climate Cafe will be held at the end of the month.
It will be on Saturday, January 27, at 11am, at Otterbourne Village Hall. 
The group's aim is to improve climate awareness among local residents.

THE Otterbourne theatre company is preparing for its family pantomime. 
They will be performing The Little Mermaid from Friday, January 12 to Sunday, January 21 at Otterbourne Village Hall.

Matinee performances start at 2.30pm on January 13, 14, 20 and 21. 
Evening performances start at 7.30pm on January 12, 13, 19 and 20.

THE Compton and Shawford village panto will be held soon.
They will be performing The Sword in the Stone at Shawford Village Hall from January 11-13.

A TALK on the history of musicals is coming to a Compton care home.
This is the latest event in the monthly Speaker's Corner at Shawford Springs.
On Friday, January 12, at 11am, Fenella from Creative will be presenting The History of Musicals.

COLDEN Common ladies group is preparing for a packed programme of events this year.
On February 16, they have chapter and verse, an evening of songs, poetry and readings.
New members are welcome. They meet on the third Friday of the month at 7.30pm in the Bert Stratton Lounge of Colden Common Community Centre. 

COLDEN Common Community Transport is looking for more volunteer drivers.
They operate shopping trips to local supermarkets on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

A NEW year party for senior citizens will be held at Colden Common Community Centre on Sunday, January 14 from 2pm-5pm.

WORK to repair the roof of Twyford Community Centre started on January 3.
It is expected to last between three and four weeks.
The car park was closed on January 3 so the scaffolding could be put up.
