A “shooting star” was spotted flying across the skies of Hampshire last night.
The phenomenon was caught on a ring doorbell footage in Romsey and has stunned those who were lucky enough to see it.
The footage, shared on Facebook by Anna Catley, shows the moment the star brightened up the skies over Romsey for seconds before disappearing into the dark depths of the night again.
The video impressed many Facebook users who shared their amazement.
However, it wasn't just in Hampshire that the star was seen as many reported seeing it across the UK.
Other posts on X (formerly Twitter) reported seeing what some are calling a "shooting star" streaking across skies over London and Birmingham.

While they are whimsically described as 'shooting stars', the phenomena is not caused by stars flying through space, but rather meteorites burning up upon entry in the Earth's atmosphere.
