STAFF and residents at Shawford Springs care home in Compton have been decking the halls in preparation for Christmas.

The care home residents have been busy decorating three different Christmas trees which have been donated to the home.

They have also made garlands, hung baubles and crafted homemade tree decorations

“It is so special to be able to share these rituals and we all love to see the home decorated and filled with twinkly lights.”

Lys, a resident at Shawford Springs, said: “It takes me back to my childhood when the whole family used to decorate the tree together with all kinds of different home-made baubles and paper chains, it was always such a special time.

“I just love to see all the Christmas lights up, if I had my way we’d never take them down!”

Shawford Springs is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, and provides residential, respite and dementia care.
