A MOTORCYCLIST has died after a crash just outside Bishop's Waltham.

Winchester Road was closed this morning (Tuesday, December 19) following the fatal collision. 

A 43-year-old Bishop's Waltham man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He is currently in police custody.

Police are appealing for witnesses. A spokesman said: "We are appealing for information and witnesses following a fatal collision in Bishop's Waltham.

"Police were called at 7.23am this morning (Tuesday, 19 December) to a road traffic collision on Winchester Road.

"The collision involved a Lexmoto Diablo and a Ford Ranger.

"Sadly the rider of motorbike, a 33-year-old man from Clanfield, died at the scene. His family has been notified and are being supported by specially trained officers.

"A 43-year-old man from Bishop's Waltham has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless / inconsiderate driving. He is currently in police custody.

"We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or either vehicle in the moments leading up to the incident.
