A Winchester man banned from the city centre for two years because of chronic offending broke the order after just six days.
Gary Trevor Page, 50, of Christchurch Road, was hit with a criminal behaviour order because of his anti-social actions and shoplifting.
Under the order he is prohibited from the High Street, cathedral grounds, Market Street, Market Lane, St Maurice's Covert and the section of Middle Brook Street between the High Street and St George's Street, outside Sainsubury's and Marks and Spencer.
The CBO was imposed on December 6 with Insp Matt Kirby saying in last week's Chronicle: "Gary Page has been a real nuisance in the city centre, affecting both visitors and businesses."
But Page broke the order on Tuesday December 12, Serena Edwards, prosecuting, told Basingstoke Magistrates Court.
He admitted the charge and was fined £80 and ordered to pay £40 costs.
