A WINCHESTER nursery has partnered with a care company to help make wishes come true for children in the Royal Hampshire County Hospital.

Finkley Weeke Nursery and Home Instead Central Hampshire will help make the festive season merrier for the many young patients who will be spending time in hospital, with both companies donating gifts given to them by members of the community.

Melissa Burnett, general manager and director at Home Instead Central Hampshire, said: "We understand that Christmas can be a difficult time of year for lots of families and we’re proud to have joined forces with Finkley Weeke Nursery in this heartwarming initiative.

“Together, we aim to make a meaningful difference to the lives of these young ones, spreading smiles and warmth through by gifting toys. Every child should feel the magic of Christmas!”

The helpful ‘elves’ at Home Instead collected gift donations at their local office and the talented wrapping team at Finkley Weeke Nursery (including the young children) prepared the gifts for a special delivery to The Northbrook Children's Ward.

Vanessa Slatcher, nursery manager, said: "By encouraging the children of Finkley Weeke Nursery to participate in this heartwarming initiative, we teach them that their actions, no matter how small, have the power to bring immense joy and support to others. Together, we're not just providing toys; we're delivering hope, love, and smiles during a season that’s all about giving."

Lottie Frogley, nursery manager, said: "Every gift received can truly make a difference to a child this Christmas. We look forward to making this season of giving truly memorable for these young patients and their families."
