A ROMSEY man has been hit with a fine after he was caught speeding in Dorset.
Matthew Richard Hughes, 48, of Middlebridge Street, drove a 21-reg VW on the A31 at St Leonards and St Ives at 74mph in a 50-limit zone, a court heard.
Hughes was captured by a manned speed camera on November 4 last year. He was found guilty under the single justice procedure at Weymouth Magistrates Court on Tuesday December 12. He was not in court.
The magistrates imposed a £307 fine with a £122 victim surcharge and £90 costs. The penalties of £508 must be paid by January 9, ordered the court.
