“Also, because you have people coming up here and having teas and coffees, they ask you lovely questions. That opens up ideas, so you get inspiration.

“It's also on my doorstep, I walk here and it's nine minutes door-to-door. It's lovely to be in the heart of Winchester.

“Winchester has an amazing heritage of crafters and artists. I come here to experiment with ideas, I play around with ideas and make things. I'm absorbed with new creative ideas.”

South Downs Social owner Neil Wyatt said: “The Studio is our new mixed use space. We've got five artist studios and we've got amazing customer seating with floor to ceiling windows that overlook Middle Brook Street so you get to watch the world go by.

“It's just a really welcoming and flexible space which is great for events and for creative courses. It's a really interesting and different space for Winchester.”
