A HAMPSHIRE blogger has published her first book to make separation a little bit easier for fellow single parents.

Daisy Harris-Reid, known as Mum about Town on Instagram, separated from her husband three years ago after 11 years together and having their son Hugo.

While Daisy, 33, from Chandler’s Ford, found support and comfort in launching her blog as a newly single parent, she’s hoping to help others rediscover their best selves following similar experiences with her Separation Survival Guide.

Although busy teaching drama across the county, keeping up her blog and raising Hugo, Daisy has used every spare moment over the past six months to bury herself in a coffee shop and chip away at her first book.

With both her mum and dad being authors, she already had the “writing bug”.

Daisy said: “Being in my early thirties and going through it was a big thing. I would have loved a self-help guide or something to help get me through it.

“One moment you are really angry and then you’re dealing with parenting and dating. It’s a very turbulent and emotional rollercoaster and suddenly you have to do everything on your own.

“I found great comfort in the community I made online. I made some real friends for life on Instagram. Even though it has been really painful, it has made me strong.

“I’m very proud of the book and it feels like the conclusion of the chapter of the last few years of my life. I want to help other people. For me, I was determined to own it and say I’m going to make the most of my life now.

“I’m really excited to have it out there but also a bit apprehensive as I don’t know how it’s going to be received. It would be lovely to get it in some book shops in the area.”
