THE countdown to the festive season began in earnest with the Romsey Winter Carnival getting underway and the switch-on of the town's Christmas lights.
The event took place on Saturday, November 25 when Romsey was transformed into a spectacular festive scene.

The procession started from Church Street and headed into the town centre towards The Hundred, eventually heading back to Church Street. Crowds of people joined in the fun dressing up as Santa, elves, and polar bears and even the snowman had fun under the lights.

The Christmas lights were switched on at 6.30pm.
Families and friends joined in the fun as the sights and sounds of the festive season filled the town.
