A ROMSEY Thai restaurant has won a Good Food Award for the second year in a row.

Suan Thai, in Tee Court, picked up the blue ribbon award for 'high customer ratings/votes'.

The restaurant was also recently shortlisted for the Asian Curry Awards, finishing in the top 100.

Suan Thai opened in 2019 and is run by husband and wife team Chotiga and Guy Blackburn.

Mr Blackburn, 52, said: “It's great to win the award for the second time. Our staff are so dedicated to providing excellent service.

“The feedback has been very positive from our customers. We try and keep the highest standards of quality food and that has been recognised.”

Mr Blackburn added that they are hoping to win for the third time next year to pick up a gold ribbon.

A post on the restaurant's Facebook page said: “We could not achieve this award without the dedication from our staff and of course, our lovely customers. Without your support, we couldn't achieve the success and recognition we have recently gained."

On the Good Food Awards website, it said: “Our Good Food Awards recognise the hard-working teams who strive for culinary excellence within their field. Chosen for their food quality, service and value, our prestigious Blue Ribbon is bestowed upon those with high customer ratings/votes and is known as – the Blue Ribbon for Delicious Dishes.”

After opening in 2019, Mr and Mrs Blackburn battled with Covid restrictions and had to rebuild their whole staff team.
