In 20 minutes on Wednesday, November 15, the planning committee of Winchester City Council approved Winchester City Football Club's planning application.
This is a massive step in the right direction, not just for the club but for local football and the community as a whole.
The new artificial pitch will allow more people to play on it; not just the first team but all manner of others, including the Flyers and youth teams.
As a result, it will massively benefit football in the community without the need to check the weather forecast from the beginning of October.
In addition, the ability to hire the pitch out will provide a major secondary source of income for the club that they can use to grow and go to the next level.
