A KEBAB shop has applied to be open until deep into the early hours.

German Doner Kebab (GDK), on Winchester High Street, has appealed to the city council to extend its opening hours from Thursday to Sunday. The business is hoping to be able to offer late-night refreshments from 11pm to 4am on those days.

The application was made by the shops' parent company, TAS Food Limited.

The deadline for representations regarding the application was October 13.

German Doner Kebab opened in Winchester last December. It offers kebabs made with fresh ingredients including meats, local vegetables and handmade toasted breads.

When the branch opened, GDK Global COO, Daniel Bunce, said: “We’re so excited to officially open our restaurant in Winchester and bring the unique German Doner Kebab taste experience to the city.

“Our game-changing kebabs are revolutionising the kebab in the UK and we are delighted to be offering a new casual dining experience to the people of Winchester with our great tasting fresh food in a relaxed and modern environment.”

At time of writing, the business is open from 11am to 11pm seven days a week.
