The future of Crosfield Hall is being called into question solely by Romsey Future.

The comments your leading article attributes to Cllr Adams-King (chairman of Romsey Future) state that Crosfield Hall is to be demolished, and that the only aspects still to be determined relate to the “new” Crosfield Hall Romsey Future wish to build the other side of the Romsey Bypass on the Rapids site.

This certainly suggests the demise of Crosfield Hall is a “done deal”.

However, far from it: Mr Simon Finch (TVBC head of planning and building control) has personally confirmed to me that there has been no application of any sort to his department concerning Crosfield Hall, so there is certainly no “done deal”.

The people of Romsey deserve better than this sort of posturing from pressure groups like Romsey Future, and most certainly from our elected Cllr Adams-King.

I urge everyone who is concerned about the future of the Crosfield Hall to make their views known as widely as possible and in particular when the applications on the Rapids site and the Crosfield Hall sites are presented to TVBC Planning.

Chala Fiske,
