Like others in the Romsey community I have concerns about the future of the Crosfield Hall.

As one enters on the left-hand side there is a plaque stating the date and that the hall was "donated to the people of Romsey".

And yet only a total of 41 persons have been asked for their views. Is this democracy?

Many of you may recall the fiasco of the Romsey swimming pool, now a car park. I know it wasn't much, a bit out-of-date you might say, but my children learned to swim there as did many others while I obtained all my three personal survival medals in that pool.

Apparently just 35 persons were asked what sort of swimming pool that wanted and I cannot believe they wanted a leisure pool. Romsey Sub-Aqua Club had to find another base as did many other serious swimmers.

So having turned the existing pool into a car park some years elapsed before Romsey Rapids was built. I have no doubt a similar situation will arise before the Crosfield is re-built and will have a new name.

What is the sense of situating a community hall out of the town and across the other side of a busy main road?

Personally, I am fed up with TVBC telling us what they think is good for us so it's up to you Romsonians to tell them what you want for a change.
