A TEST VALLEY fundraiser has been commended for her outstanding commitment to a military charity.

Dale Lansley was given the Sir James Gildea Award for her work for SSAFA, on Friday, October 13.

Hampshire branch chairman Mike Sibbons presented the award on behalf of the Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire.

During the presentation, Mr Sibbons said: “You were nominated for your excellent support to Hampshire Branch awareness and fundraising events for over the past five years. Your sheer dedication and commitment have not only raised the profile of SSAFA at countless Hampshire events, but also helped to raise many thousands of pounds in donations. I would like to pass my sincere thanks and appreciation on behalf of the whole SSAFA team."

Ms Lansley said: “I am honoured and excited to receive this award – thank you.”

The Sir James Gildea Awards exist to recognise volunteers and employees of SSAFA for exceptional contribution and commitment to the charity’s activities and values.  

Any SSAFA volunteer or employee can nominate someone who inspires them and who goes the extra mile to help service people, veterans and their families, in their times of need.
