I write in support of the recent letter regarding 'visual clutter' at the Buttercross.

In the past, I have appealed through your columns, written several times to various branches of the local authority, and even appealed for the assistance of our MP, but without success or response.

Along with Alfred's statue, the Buttercross must be one of the most photographed landmarks of our city, yet it is frequently impeded by buskers and street vendors of various types, making it impossible to take a clear photograph of family etc at the landmark.

It would take very little to identify a small area in front of the Buttercross to be kept clear.
